I think pre hardmode summons should get a speed buff ones you enter the hardmode, like come on what do you mean that 7th level abigail cannon hit queen slime ones i'm running away from it
and don't get me started on imp staf that is so slow it aims at places where the enemies were 4 parallel universes ago

early hardmode up to getting blade staff or sanguine staff is just a whip game coz minions can't hit bosses like at all
I think that changes are desparetly needed due to the fact that early hardmode is definitly the hardest part of entire game for summoner

I agree, though I feel like there should be a different way to implement this.

I feel like Imps have little to no problem with the AI, they always consistently hit for me.

maybe you just use different builds i use movement-dps optimilized build most of the times, from my expirince ones you manuver around bosses with speeds allowed by baloon+wings and unicorn/hell goat they can't hit anything

Well, what I'd recommend is getting the Spider Staff and Spider set (which is pretty easy, even if you didn't get the Firecracker when beating WOF), use it to kill a mech boss, make the Summoner Hallowed set and the Durandal, which should be good enough for Queen Slime and then you can get the Blade Staff. I don't see anything wrong with Summoner's progression at this point of the game.

ok i think i'm being missunderstood here, my point is no that the progression is too hard, my point is that minions take very little part in it and you know the class is called summoner
spider staff is utterly useless beyond saving point, so that's why my argument was about pre hardmode minions speed buff

you get spider armor(not neccasary but helps with getting the whips due to summons bein usefull for normal enemies), then any of hardmode whips, I find getting one from wof or getting a blizard to be not too bad of an rng
progression is there, but up until first queen slime or dreadnautilus minions play marginal role in it

Oh, come now. Spider Staff is not that bad. It has increased minion capacity, inflicts Venom, and doesn't really take that much setup to get good use out of it. I always use the Spider Staff to get the Sanguine Staff because it does well enough against Dreadnautilus. It's fine for the beginning of Hardmode.

As for your actual suggestion, it would be far better to buff the early Hardmode minions than to make the pre-Hardmode ones viable. You claim the Spider Staff is "utterly useless beyond saving point," but you didn't even try to come up with anything. What about the Pirate Staff, which is definitely worse than the Spider Staff and used even less? Does it not deserve a buff?

pirates... they're ground running minions without ranged attacks, i can't see way to buff them without completly changing them and i try to avoid suggesting such a code heavy solutions.

I'm running at 62mph o the arena in the sky and mechanical monstrosity is chasing me to rip out my spine xD They're not even on the screen sometimes xD

to stay true, they might have some use on destroyer, but i ussually do it as a second or third mech so hallowed armor dodge makes it a breeze no matter what i use
